State police made several arrests after a traffic stop in the town of Veteran. Through the traffic stop, troopers found that the vehicle in question had been stolen out of the city of Ithaca.
Following an investigation at the scene, a quantity of cocaine and four illegal loaded handguns were found inside the vehicle. Two of the handguns had defaced serial numbers.
As a result of the investigation, the following individuals were arrested:
Diyandre Y. Harriett, 18, of Ithaca, was charged with two counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal possession of stolen property in the third degree.
Charles M. Nembhard, 19, of Freeville was charged with two counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Marcellus A. Smith, 18, of Painted Post was charged with four counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
All subjects were arraigned in the Village of Horseheads Court and remanded to the Chemung County Jail on $1,000,000 cash or $2,000,000 bond bail pending future court proceedings.
