The National Weather Service issued a Winter Weather Advisory for parts of the region late-Monday, as patchy freezing rain was expected during the morning hours today.
During the overnight hours the National Weather Service offices in Buffalo and Binghamton spent hours expanding those, as conditions warranted.
The biggest threat is the morning commute through the Finger Lakes region. The Winter Weather Advisory itself runs through 12 p.m.
However, it should be switched over to mostly rain by mid- to late-morning.
