New York’s vaccine mandate for healthcare workers struck down by state judge

State health officials are “weighing its options” after a recent ruling by a state Supreme Court judge to strike down the medical staff vaccine mandate in New York.

The judge ruled that the health commissioner was not authorized to make the mandate permanent without approval from the state legislature.

In a statement released by the health department, they have expressed strong disagreement with the ruling, stating that the mandate is vital in protecting vulnerable residents from the virus.

However, the statement did not mention if they plan to appeal the ruling.
