Newark woman faces DWI, other charges after traffic stop in Macedon

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a Newark woman following a traffic stop in Macedon.

According to a news release, Claritza Hernandez, 31, of Newark was arrested for DWI, operating with a BAC over the legal limit, unlicensed operation, aggravated unlicensed operation, and other traffic violations.

The arrest stems from a roadside investigation, where deputies observed an odor of alcohol coming from the vehicle. The traffic stop and subsequent investigation happened around 12:30 a.m. on Sunday.

She was found to have a BAC of 0.15% after field sobriety tests.

Hernandez was transported to the Wayne County Jail for processing and was released on her own recognizance.
