Prince Harry’s memoir “Spare” breaks records with 1.4 million copies sold on first day of release

Prince Harry’s memoir “Spare” has set a new record, selling over 1.4 million copies in its first day of release across all formats including paper, audio, and electronic in the US, Canada, and the UK.

This is the highest first-day sales total for any nonfiction book ever published by Penguin Random House, the world’s largest trade publisher. The book officially went on sale on Tuesday and due to high demand, additional copies are being printed.

“Spare” is available in 16 languages worldwide and offers an unflinching look into Prince Harry’s life, including the devastating impact of his mother’s death, his struggles with grief and finding love, and is at times critical of certain family members.
