The Bath Central School District Board of Education has named Kelly Houck as the new Superintendent of Schools, effective July 1, 2023. Houck, who currently holds the position of GST BOCES District Superintendent, has previously served as Superintendent of Schools for the Dundee and Canaseraga Central School Districts.
In a statement, Houck expressed her excitement for the opportunity to join the Bath CSD team and community. “I look forward to getting to know all students, faculty, staff, and stakeholders as we begin to work together to build upon the strong foundation Bath CSD is known for,” she said.
Houck holds a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a master’s degree in Elementary and Special Education from Mansfield University, as well as a Certificate of Advanced Study in Educational Administration from SUNY Brockport.
Current Superintendent Joseph Rumsey expressed his support for Houck’s appointment, saying, “I have known Kelly for many years and have observed her energy and talents firsthand as a colleague in this region. I have no doubt that she will be the perfect fit for leading our schools in the years to come.”
The Bath Central School District, located in the Southern Tier, serves over 3,000 students and is known for its commitment to providing a high-quality education for all students. With Houck at the helm, the district is poised to continue its mission of creating and sustaining the best learning environment for all students for years to come.
