On January 10th the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 23-year-old Lyons resident for harassment and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child following an investigation into a disturbance that occurred in the lobby of the Wayne County Jail.
Kyara A. Smith, of Lyons, was taken into custody after an altercation with another woman who was waiting in the jail lobby.
According to the authorities, Ms. Smith became irate during a verbal argument with the other woman and physically struck her, causing minor scratches. The incident occurred in the presence of the Smith’s son and the victim’s daughter.
She was later released on an appearance ticket and will be required to appear at a later date in Lyons Town Court to answer to the charges.
