Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz announced that the County Medical Examiner’s office has confirmed two more deaths related to the blizzard that struck the region last month.
One was a woman found in a tent in Buffalo, and the other was a three-year-old girl who died from injuries after drowning at a hotel pool. The girl and her family had gone to the hotel after losing power.
This brings the blizzard-related death toll in western New York to 44, with 42 of these deaths reported in Erie County and one reported in Niagara County, in Lockport.
Poloncarz offered his condolences to the families of the victims.
