New York man arrested for rape and unlawful imprisonment

One person is in custody on serious charges after an attack in Oneida County.

State police arrested Todd A. Estes, 44, of Blossvale on January 4th, 2023, for rape in the first degree and unlawful imprisonment in the second degree. The charges stem from an investigation into a report from a 48-year-old female victim who was an acquaintance of Estes.

According to the victim, Estes used duct tape to bind her head, zip-tied her hands behind her back, and wrapped rope around her neck and down to her feet, rendering her unable to move or call for help. She was held captive for several hours and attacked by Estes.

He was taken to the Oneida County Jail, where he awaits centralized arraignment. The rape charge is a class B felony, while the unlawful imprisonment charge is a class A misdemeanor.
