The Syracuse Orange men’s basketball avoided an embarrassing loss by edging the Louisville Cardinals, 70-69, on Tuesday night at the KFC Yum Center. With the win, Syracuse improved to 10-5 on the season, while Louisville drops to 2-13.
The Orange trailed at halftime and for most of the second half, but a few big shots late in the game lifted Syracuse to victory.
Syracuse was led by Joe Girard, who netted a game-high 28 points. Judah Mintz finished in double figures as well, scoring 16 points. Jesse Edwards added 12 points and 10 rebounds, notching his seventh double-double of the season.
