Sabean, 66, rejoins the Yankees after spending 30 years with the San Francisco Giants. He served as the GM from 1996 to 2004 and led the Giants to three World Series titles before he was promoted to executive vice president of baseball operations from 2015-18.
Before joining the Giants, Sabean spent eight seasons with the Yankees, serving as the Director of Scouting from 1986-90 and the Vice President of Player Development and Scouting from 1990-92.
