Police say a shooting in Ithaca is under investigation.
On December 30th police responded to a call for shots fired in the area of North Cayuga and Jay streets in the city.
Police requested assistance from the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office to answer the initial call, which came in around 12:55 a.m.
No people were located on-scene when police arrived. Later it was learned that two vehicles parked on Jay Street near Cayuga Street were struck by gunfire.
No one was in the vehicles at the time of the incident. The damage was not known until morning.
Anyone with information about the shootings should call IPD as the investigation remains active.
