Before officially being sworn-in as the next representative of the 23rd Congressional District, Nick Langworthy celebrated in Elmira.

A ceremonial swearing-in event was held for the Congressman-elect, who will begin his first term on Tuesday, January 3rd.

Several local officials spoke at the event.

Langworthy will represent Steuben and Schuyler counties in the Finger Lakes region.

“I know that there’s a concern. That a guy from Buffalo isn’t going to remember people on this end of the Southern Tier,” he said. “I could never … By the end of my first term in office you’re going to think I live in Elmira.”

Langworthy thanked the public at the end of his remarks.
