Police made several arrests after a series of check forgeries and frauds in the city of Ithaca.
A group of people were found to have stolen more than $25,000 from a local housing agency over the course of weeks.
Police said in a news release that on December 19th after a thorough investigation IPD arrested Tyrie Gray, age 28, of Ithaca for grand larceny and five counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument; Beverly Heffron, age 32, of Ithaca, for grand larceny and two counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument; Henry Moreno, age 32, of Ithaca for grand larceny and five counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument; Aliza Turcsik-Hines, age 21, of Ithaca for grand larceny and two counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument; and Ashanna Wilder, age 20, of Ithaca for grand larceny and two counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument.
All were arraigned and will answer the charges in city court at a later date.
