Another day, another move for the New York Mets.
The club made a trade late Wednesday night, sending catcher James McCann to the Baltimore Orioles in exchange for a player to be named later, ESPN’s Jeff Passan reported.
McCann has two years and $24 million left on his current contract that he signed in 2021, and the Orioles will assume $5 million of that total, per MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand.
The 32-year-old hit just .220/.282/.328 with 13 home runs in 182 games with New York.
