The NHL announced Monday that Buffalo Sabres forward Tage Thompson has been named the league’s Second Star of the Week for the second week in a row.
He is the first Sabres skater and the first NHL skater since Kevin Fiala to be named an NHL Star of the Week in consecutive weeks, according to Sabres PR.
Thompson netted four goals and notched four assists in three games last week. Two of his three goals were game-winners.
The 25-year-old leads the team with 25 goals and 24 assists. He is just four goals behind Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid for the league lead.
