Deputies say a Bath woman falsified documents over a span of months in Steuben County resulting in more than $1,700 in illegally obtained public assistance.
Stacy Oakley, age 50, is accused of offering two falsified documents between February and April, resulting in $1,783 in assistance she was not eligible to receive.
Oakley was charged with two counts of offering a false instrument for filing and grand larceny.
The charges will be answered at a later date.
