Reports earlier this year that Walmart was ditching paper bags have been verified.
While the company initially denied the report stores in New York will go paperless effective January 1, 2023.
What does that mean? Shoppers will have to purchase reusable bags on each visit, or remember their own.
The move comes two years after New York banned single-use plastic bags.
As a company, Walmart piloted this program in Maine and Vermont earlier this year.
Signs have been popping up at Walmart stores across the Finger Lakes and Central New York announcing the change.
