The Buffalo Sabres extended their win streak to three with a 5-2 victory over the Arizona Coyotes on Saturday night at Mullett Arena. With the victory, the Sabres improved to 15-14-2 on the season and sit just four points behind the Washington Capitals for the last Eastern Conference wild-card spot.
The game was tied at two after two periods of play, but Buffalo scored three consecutive goals, including two with the net empty to secure the victory.
Jeff Skinner scored twice and notched an assist in his first game back from a three-game suspension. Tage Thompson netted his team-leading 25th goal and tallied two assists. Tyson Jost and Kyle Okposo also found the back of the net, while Craig Anderson stopped 29-of-31 shots.
Buffalo converted twice on five power-play opportunities while going 5-for-6 on the penalty kill.
The Sabres will wrap up their three-game road trip on Monday when they take on the Las Vegas Golden Knights at 10 p.m.
