Police: Ithaca woman arrested after stolen vehicle recovered one day after theft

Police say a 32-year-old Ithaca woman was arrested after a vehicle was stolen on Floral Avenue Thursday around 8:14 a.m.

The victim reported that the vehicle was left running, and the suspect, later identified as Amanda Linderberry, age 32, of Ithaca, took it.

Around 9 a.m. on Friday police located the stolen vehicle, which was occupied and running on North Plain Street.

A high risk vehicle stop was conducted and the street was temporarily closed.

The occupant was Linderberry, who was taken into custody and charged with criminal possession of stolen property as a felony, as well as criminal mischief.

The charges will be answered at a later date in city court.
