Deputies report the arrest of a Manchester man following an investigation into a stolen backhoe.

Edward Monroe III, age 39, of Manchester was charged with conspiracy and possession of stolen property.

The charges stem from an incident that happened earlier this year where police were notified of a backhoe that had been stolen.

The equipment was burned, cut, and sold for scrap, according to investigators.

Monroe will answer the charges at a later date in local court.
