Governor Kathy Hochul recently announced that $52 million dollars will go toward creating 12 Regional Clean Energy Hubs that will work as outreach centers for the public to learn more about clean energy.
This is all part of the 2019 Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act, according to the Times Union.
This law required that 35% of the investments made into clean energy go toward disadvantaged communities. Some of the ways this can happen is by helping people to upgrade their houses to use green energy as well as community outreach to offer education about the job opportunities within this new field.
Every educational hub will have multiple organizations from each economic development region that will help create partnerships for the next four years.
