A Farmington woman was hospitalized after a serious two-car crash in the town of Canandaigua.

Police say Nathan Somers, age 28, of Penn Yan was traveling west on 5&20 in Canandaigua when the pickup truck collided with a passenger car making a left-turn onto Parish Street Extension.

The sedan rolled over as result of the collision and airbags deployed in both vehicles.

The operator of the sedan, identified as Barbara Bystark, age 64, had to be extricated by first responders. She was then airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital for head and chest injuries.

The investigation remains active and charges are pending, police said.
