Adjustments are being outlined by Toyota for their electric vehicle strategies in 2023.
Toyota is looking to become more competitive in the electric vehicle market. Some of their strategies include speeding up the process of implementing performance improving technologies for electric vehicles, according to Reuters.
The plan was to devote three years for electric vehicle development, but delays may happen as they restrategize. The biggest goal is to close the gap with Tesla when it comes to cost and performance.
One of the first electric vehicles produced by Toyota was the bZ4X, or “beyond zero.” Now they may be focusing on their E-TNGA model. Originally they modified the gasoline car platform, but they may drop those plans for a fully dedicated electric vehicle platform.
Toyota has been working with the suppliers Denso and Aisin.
