State police arrested a 31-year-old Shortsville woman on several charges after an investigation into abuse of her children.

Samantha Dorsey was charged with second-degree assault, third-degree assault and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

She’s accused of abusing her children between April and October while living in Webster. The arrest is the result of an investigation that began earlier this week when state police received dozens of videos of Dorsey striking her 8- and 4-year-old children.

Dorsey was processed and arraigned. She was released on her own recognizance and will answer the charges at a later date.

An order of protection was issued on behalf of her children.
