The charges filed against Hornell City School Superintendent Jeremy Palotti have been dismissed.
He had been indicted on two counts of official misconduct and another of failing to make a required report to the State Child Abuse Hotline.
“We must say, however, that the Court’s decision underscores our continuing confidence in Mr. Palotti as our Superintendent,” a District spokesperson said after the decision to dismiss was reached.
The charges were related to an allegation of improper search of female students by district administrators. He was accused of failing to report a direct or suspect incident of child abuse or mistreatment in October 2021.
While this clears up the criminal portion of the case, it’s unclear if all civil matters related to it have been concluded.
