China recently eased up on their COVID-19 restrictions, only for a number of businesses and schools to report new cases on Friday.
The ease of restrictions was a way to try and reverse an economic slump, according to the Associated Press.
Official data reveals there is a decrease in new cases, but large portions of the population aren’t being reported now that there aren’t required tests.
Many businesses are finding themselves closed due to having little staff as everyone falls ill.
This trend has been seen in other countries as they try to ease the restrictions and restore the economy, only for large percentages of people to fall ill and not be able to go to work.
Despite being sick, many businesses and schools are still urging people to go in in China.
