Where someone decides to live in the U.S. can sometimes be decided by those who love or hate winter.

This means if someone loves winter, they may choose to live in a place where the winters are just a bit worse.

If you want to live in the coldest city in the U.S., then your best best is to live in Utqiaġvik, Alaska, formerly known as Barrow, Alaska. The average annual temperatire is 11.7 degrees. For more than 100 days of the year the temperatures are below freezing.

If you want to live in the warmest city, that would be in Hilo, Hawaii where the average annual temperature is 70.7 degrees. Hilo is the 294th coldest city in the U.S.

As for New York, the coldest city in the state is Binghamton, which is the 53rd coldest city in the U.S. The average annual temperature is around 46.2 degrees. This means it’s even colder than Syracuse, Rochester, and even Buffalo.
