New data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention shows that the U.S. is experience the worst flu season since 2009.
In New York, that trend matches where as of late-November there was a 76% increase in influenza cases from the week prior.
Now, as of the most-recent data period – there were nearly 70,000 cases of confirmed influenza.
More than half of those cases are in infants and kids up to 17.
