Pharmacists don’t see Amoxicillin shortage ending anytime soon

Local pharmacists say they don’t see an end in sight when it comes to the Amoxicillin shortage.

It’s an antibiotic that’s often prescribed to treat basic illnesses.


That said, supply chain issues and manufacturing backorders has created chaos for pharmacies big and small.

Part of the issue, higher-than-expected caseloads of RSV and other infection-related illnesses.

Pharmacists have been offering alternatives. But now even some of those are getting in short supply.
