The Republican, and former police officer in Seneca Falls, has served as an elected official in some capacity since 2013. Before becoming a town justice, he served on the Seneca County Board of Supervisors.

Democrat Steve Kelley is the second justice in Town Court. The Town is anticipated to seek applicants for appointment to fulfill the remainder of Lafler’s term.
