Williamson resident accused of choking person holding a newborn

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a Williamson man following a family trouble complaint on Russell Road.

On Friday around 11:09 p.m. deputies arrested Malachi Mamroe, age 27, of Williamson for harassment, endangering the welfare of a child, and criminal obstruction of breathing.

The charges stem from a family trouble complaint where Mamroe is alleged to have choked a person who was holding a newborn baby.

Deputies say Mamoroe was taken to the Wayne County Jail for arraignment.
