Cayuga County reported one of its youngest COVID deaths since the start of the pandemic.
Health officials there said a spike in respiratory illnesses is taking its toll on Auburn Community Hospital, according to The Citizen.
A man in his 30s died after testing positive for COVID, health officials confirmed. No other information about that case was released.

As of last week, only six beds were available at Auburn Community Hospital out of the 82 there. The Citizen found in its report that the hospital averaged around 25% of its beds available at any given time.
