The Buffalo Sabres bounced back from Thursday’s loss with a 6-3 victory over the San Jose Sharks on Sunday night at KeyBank Center. With the victory, Buffalo improved to 11-13-1 on the season.

The Sabres trailed 2-1 after the first period but exploded for three goals in the second and never looked back as they added two more in the third to secure the victory.

Rookie Jack Quinn scored a pair of goals to lead the offense. Tage Thompson netted his team-leading 16th goal of the season, while JJ Peterka, Jeff Skinner, and Alex Tuch also found the back of the net. Dylan Cozens collected three assists, becoming the fourth Sabres skater aged 21 or younger to record three or more points in consecutive games. Rasmus Dahlin tallied two assists.

Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen made his second-straight start between the pipes and turned aside 26-of-29 shots.

Buffalo finished 2-for-4 on the power play and a perfect 1-for-1 on the penalty kill.

The Sabres will get a couple of days off before they return to the ice to take on the Columbus Blue Jackets on Wednesday night at Nationwide Arena.
