For the first time since 2015, the Syracuse Orange men’s soccer team is headed to the Final Four.

The three-seeded Orange (17-2-4) edged the Vermont Catamounts (16-4-2), 2-1, on Saturday afternoon.

Syracuse opened the scoring in the 10th minute as Curt Calov snipped one from the corner past Vermont goalkeeper Nathan Silveira, giving the Orange an early 1-0 lead.

The lead did not last long as Daniel Parcella put the Catamounts on the board in the 22nd minute, tying the game at one.

However, Syracuse went back on top right before the half as Jevonte Johnson fired one into the back of the net on a pass from Nathan Opoku. That stood as the game-winner after neither team scored in the second half.

The Orange will face Creighton next Friday in Cary, North Carolina. The start time is to be determined.
