Ithaca’s historic season ends with quarterfinals loss to North Central

The Ithaca Bombers had their historic season come to an end in the NCAA Division III Quarterfinals as they fell to North Central, 48-7, on Saturday afternoon at Benedetti-Wherli Stadium.

Ithaca finished its season with a 12-1 record, the second-most wins in program history.

North Central dominated from the opening kickoff as they racked up nearly 600 yards of offense, including 383 rushing yards, and scored in all four quarters while having the ball for more than 42 minutes. The Bombers were held to just 136 yards of offense, including just 17 yards on the ground.


Ithaca quarterback A.J. Wingfield completed 12-of-25 passes for 119 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. Jake Williams hauled in the lone touchdown. Michael Anderson led the team with 59 receiving yards on six receptions.

Jonathan Koumas logged 10 tackles on defense, while Matt DeSimpliciis had nine tackles and 2.0 tackles for loss.
