The Buffalo Sabres (9-12-0) had their two-game win streak snapped on Friday night with a 3-1 loss to the New Jersey Devils (17-4-0) at KeyBank Center.
All of the scoring came in the second period. New Jersey scored a pair of goals before Victor Olofsson put Buffalo on the board with his 11th goal of the season. Immediately following that, the Devils regained their two-goal lead and held on in the third despite a strong push by the Sabres.
Craig Anderson made several big saves down the stretch to give Buffalo a chance. He turned aside 41-of-44 shots.
The Sabres will get a few days off before they wrap up their homestand on Monday against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
