The Buffalo Bills made the following roster moves on Saturday:
- Signed cornerback Xavier Rhodes from the practice squad
- Placed cornerback Christian Benford on injured reserve
- Signed wide receiver John Brown to the practice squad
- Signed defensive tackle C.J. Brewer to the practice squad
Some notes:
Brown spent the 2019 and 2020 seasons with Buffalo. He hauled in 105 catches for 1,518 yards and 9 touchdowns over both of those seasons. However, the 32-year-old hasn’t played much since. His last NFL snap came as a Tampa Bay Buccaneer on January 23 and he had a total of 24 snaps last season.
Benford suffered an oblique injury in Buffalo’s 28-25 victory over the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving. Sean McDermott told reporters Friday that he was considered week-to-week, but now he will miss at least four games before he is eligible to return.
Rhodes signed with the Bills’ practice squad on September 28 and was called up for one game, playing 25 snaps in the win over the Cleveland Browns on November 20.
