The Syracuse Orange men’s basketball team (3-2) fell to the St. John’s Red Storm (6-0), 76-69, in overtime on Tuesday night in the Empire Class final at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
Syracuse led by six points at the break and 11 at one point in the second half, but turnovers and poor shooting helped St. John’s claw back and take the lead before Jesse Edward’s sent the game into overtime with a layup. However, the sloppiness continued in overtime as the Orange were outscored 11-4.
Four players finished in double figures for Syracuse. Judah Mintz led the way with 20 points.
