Newark Police Chief Richard Martin says it’s been a surreal experience ‘coming home’ to serve as the community’s law enforcement leader. It’s been 22 years since Martin worked for the police department in the place he calls home, but the time was right.
“It’s been surreal,” Martin said recently appearing on Inside the FLX. “[I] felt it was time for change.” The longtime law enforcement veteran spent more than a decade with the Rochester Police Department, as well as several years in academic, research, and administrative roles.
On this edition of Inside the FLX, Martin talks about the moments that led to his decision, as well as his goals for the department. Check out the full-episode below, or on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, or the iHeartRadio app.
