The Steuben County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a Painted Post man following an attempted burglary.
Deputies arrested Wayne Crane, age 65, following an investigation into a person trying to break-in to a home.
It’s alleged that Crane intentionally violated a court order, requiring him to stay away from the place he was trying to enter.
It’s further alleged that Crane damaged property that belonged to another person.
The victim was fearful of their safety and a child was present, according to deputies.
Crane was charged with felony criminal mischief, menacing, stalking, criminal mischief, and endangering the welfare of a child.
The charges will be answered at a later date.
