A draft of the marijuana licensing laws show that it’s going to be similar to the alcohol market in the state of New York. The draft of the rules should be released sometime next week.
These recreational licenses will be separate from each other. Those that grow and process the plant will receive one license and those that sell it will receive another. The only case this would be different is if someone runs a microbusiness.
The state Cannabis Control Board will consider the regulations next week.
One major rule in the draft is that those who operate or invest in the business on the supply side cannot be involved in retail business. Those that have a clear microbusiness can grow and sell, but with limitations. Those licensees can only grow up to 3,500 square feet of cannabis indoors or 10,000 square feet outdoors.
