What’s ahead in the forecast? Light snow tapers, snow showers stick around for Finger Lakes

Light snow moved through the Finger Lakes and Central New York overnight.

Many reported seeing road crews out – salting wet roads to keep them from getting slick.

The light snow continued into the morning hours.

But now, the Winter Weather Advisory is expiring. So, what comes next?

For a vast majority of us – very little. Except some November-like weather. Snow showers, plenty of clouds, and high temperatures in the mid-to-upper 30s through the weekend.

If you’re heading west, though, especially along the Thruway corridor – things will look much different. Albion, Batavia, and Wyoming will see 3-6 inches of snow by Sunday night, as the first lake effect snow system of the season sets up. Moving further west toward Buffalo – accumulations could reach 1-2 feet.
