The Buffalo Sabres (7-9-0) fell into an early hole and could not climb out of it as they dropped their sixth straight game with a 5-4 loss to the Vancouver Canucks (5-9-3) on Tuesday night at KeyBank Center.
Jeff Skinner scored twice to lead Buffalo’s offense. Alex Tuch netted a goal and tallied two assists, while Casey Mittelstadt also found the back of the net. Tage Thompson and Rasmus Dahlin extended their point streaks to five games. Craig Anderson started between the pipes and turned aside 27-of-32 shots.
Buffalo went 0-for-3 on the power play and 1-for-3 on the penalty kill.
The Sabres will be right back at it on Wednesday night as they head to Ottawa to take on the Senators at 7 p.m.
