State police arrested a Marion resident following a traffic stop in the town of Waterloo on Sunday.
A vehicle was observed speeding on Waterloo Geneva Road in the town of Waterloo.
Troopers say the operator, identified as William Vibbert, age 42, of Marion was found to be intoxicated.
He was arrested for driving while ability impaired.
The charges will be answered in local court.
