A former nursing home employee in the city of Rochester has been convicted for the rape of a patient who suffers from dementia.
According to Rochester First, Khadka Pradhan, 52, was working at the Shore Winds Nursing home. He was employed there when he sexually assaulted a patient. The patient is an 81-year-old woman with dementia.
The assault happened on September 29, 2021. Charges include rape, criminal sexual act, and endangering the welfare of an incompetent or physically disabled person. There were also numerous lesser offenses.
The employee was convicted of all of these charges and faces up to 25 years in prison. Sentencing will happen on January 6, 2023.
