Crunch fall short in 3-2 loss to Checkers

The Syracuse Crunch erased a two-goal deficit but fell to the Charlotte Checkers, 3-2, on Friday night at Bojangles Coliseum. With the loss, the Crunch dropped to 1-8-0 on the season.

Syracuse trailed 2-0 after two periods but tied the game in the third on a pair of goals from Darren Raddysh and Simon Ryfors. However, three minutes after the Crunch knotted it at two, Charlotte netted what would be the game-winning goal to secure the victory.

Sean Day and Ryan Jones collected assists for the Crunch. Max Lagace turned aside 28-of-31 shots.

Syracuse went 0-for-3 on the man advantage and 2-for-4 on the penalty kill.

The two teams will meet again on Saturday at 6 p.m.
