Last week local leaders celebrated Ithaca-Tompkins International Airport adding JFK to the list of places it would have a connecting flight.
Now, some local residents are disappointed with the news that Detroit connections will no longer be provided.
Officials with the airport said that trading the New York City route for the Detroit option was the only one available to them.
The Detroit service hasn’t ended yet. It’s not entirely clear how quickly it will come to an end, either.
Connecting service to JFK will not begin immediately. In fact, it’s not slated to begin until early-January.
