Five-goal third period lifts Sabres over Penguins, 6-3

The Buffalo Sabres rallied and scored five goals in the third period, handing the Pittsburgh Penguins their sixth consecutive loss, 6-3, at KeyBank Center on Wednesday night. With the victory, Buffalo improved to 7-3-0 on the season.

Victor Olofsson scored twice for the Sabres, while Tage Thompson, JJ Peterka, Alex Tuch, and Kyle Okposo also found the back of the net. Jeff Skinner, Owen Power, and Rasmus Dahlin each collected two assists. Eric Comrie turned aside 18-of-21 shots.

Buffalo went 1-for-4 on the man advantage and 2-for-3 on the penalty kill.

The Sabres will be back in action on Friday when they take on the Carolina Hurricanes at PNC Arena. The puck drop is set for 7 p.m.
