The Finger Lakes Drug Task Force conducted an investigation in Weedsport, and as result, two people are in custody on felony charges.
Kelli Mitchell and Matthew Carnicelli were both arrested on November 1st in Auburn.
They were charged with felony criminal possession of a controlled substance and conspiracy.
According to investigators they possessed fentanyl compounds.
They said Cayuga County has experienced an increase in overdose deaths as of late. No additional information has been released related to those overdose deaths.
But police are investigating them an individual incidents.
